COMPANY PROFILE
The Szanton Company, an affiliate of the Monks Companies, specializes in developing mixed income housing in or near downtowns. The principals formed the company as an outgrowth of a successful consulting firm that provided development project management services to non-profit agencies and local housing authorities. Since its inception, The Szanton Company has completed three new construction development projects and is working on two more. Two of the completed buildings are located in Portland, ME, one with twenty-seven apartments and one with forty apartments. A third, a 30-unit apartment building, is located in Exeter, NH. The company is preparing to break ground on a 43-unit apartment building in Portland and is planning an 80-unit project in Biddeford, ME.
